Quiet Love, Helena Rac

Netgalley copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Blurb

Daniel has been best friends with Rose since they were born. He’s been in love with her for years. The only problem? She has no idea, and he’s not about to tell her and ruin their friendship. The solution? Leave Chicago to travel the world, pursue his dream of becoming a photojournalist, and try to forget the red lips that he could kiss for hours. If only she’d let him…

Rose knows true love is out there somewhere; she just has to try hard enough to find it. That’s become more complicated, though, since her best friend Daniel has moved in with her after being away for two years. Somehow thoughts of him keep getting in the way, making her morning showers a little too hot for comfort. If only he’d see…

In Helena Rac’s second novel, best friends become roommates and discover through sloppy towel tucks, stargazing adventures, and a very sexy photo shoot that sometimes love can be found in the most unlikely place: right in front of you.

My Thoughts

It’s Spring (almost)! It’s romance! I LOVE THIS BOOK!

Meet Rose and Daniel, two young and ambitious people who are incredible friends and even better people. I was afraid at first that I would prefer one over the other, but in fact I love them equally, so it’s all good. Daniel is a sweetheart, a guy I really wish I could give a hug to, and Rose is a great young woman, strong and independent, yet still romantic, without defining herself through love.

The dialogues in this book were great, and they helped making their intimacy and relationship so good, from friends to lovers - they’re the dream team! We get the chance to read from both their points of view, which added even more quality to the story and the plot. It was so easy to read and well written, yet SO frustrating because of the slow burning romance (the best kind, if you ask me).

I need to add, though, that you should be aware that it was pretty explicit at times, and some scenes are very hot. Like, very. Those were pretty well written to, might I add.

I really loved it. I flew through it, I was sucked into the story and ended up not being able to put the book down, and I wouldn’t even mind if someone told me there were to be a thousand sequels to wait for.

If you’re in need of a charming book with a great couple and sweet love story, stop right here and read this book, it’s worth it!
